Summary:
Function & Scope:
Responsible for a variety of Developmental, Math, Graduate entry preparatory classes and tutoring assignments. Plans, teaches and prepares materials for Developmental and Math classes. Develops programs that promote interests and encouragement to students. Selects instructional materials and coordinates scoring and interpretation of learning skills development tests. Assists with Student Orientations. Requires ability to comprehend and implement policies and procedures, initiative and ability to make decisions relative to routine office operations. Requires ability to exercise judgment within areas of delegated responsibility.
Essential Functions:
Typical Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Plans, prepares materials and teaches Development Math or English classes.
- Plans, prepares materials and teaches the math or English sections of both the GRE and GMAT Prep classes.
- Tutors Math and statistics, or English appointments.
- Scores scantrons, counts ballots for various departments on campus and collects fees.
- Room supervisor for National testing.
- Provides tech support for the Student Success department.

General supervision - Incumbent develops own ways to effectively perform a variety of duties or performs complex duties within established policiy guidelines; responsible for a defined set of assignments, expected to determine and create procedures to set priorities and meet goals.
Given: Supervises lower level Specialists, Tutors and clerical staff.
Education:
Required: Master’s degree with concentration in the field of learning development.

Experience:
Required:
3 years of teaching or clinical experience in the field of learning development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience including but not limited to teaching in a college and or university setting.

Accuracy – Proficiency in all phases of work. Occasional night or weekend work.

If this is a supervisory position, the incumbent is expected to complete required supervisory training; orient, train and develop subordinates; provide appropriate coaching, guidance and supervision to subordinates; and complete annual performance evaluations.

Responsible for duties as assigned relating to internal controls including safe-guarding of department assets, reliability of department financial information, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
