Summary:
Function & Scope: To perform creative and highly specialized teaching duties and auxiliary administrative, supervisory, public relations, and research activities in the University learning skills service. Responsible for publicizing, developing, organizing, teaching, supervising, and researching individual and group instruction.
Essential Functions:
Typical Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Plans and implements the academic support programs for Learning Resources.
- Assists in the determination of appropriate enrollment records and data summaries of performance and individual improvements.
- Provides assistance in the selection of instructional materials and test scoring.
- Provides training for paraprofessional staff and assists with student orientations.
Marginal Functions:
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervision:
Received: General supervision from lead Specialist and/or Director.
Given: General instruction to support clerical staff and/or entry level Specialists and paraprofessional staff.
Education:
Required: Master’s degree with concentration in the field of learning development.
Preferred N/A
Experience:
Required: One year of teaching or clinical experience in a field of learning development.
Preferred: N/A

Proficiency in all phases of work.

If this is a supervisory position, the incumbent is expected to complete required supervisory training; orient, train and develop subordinates; provide appropriate coaching, guidance and supervision to subordinates; and complete annual performance evaluations.

Responsible for duties as assigned relating to internal controls including safe-guarding of department assets, reliability of department financial information, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents, in lieu of stated minimums, require the prior written approval of the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources Management.
