Summary:
Function & Scope: To plan and instruct classes in learning skills. Responsible for enrollment, planning, teaching, and preparing materials for classes. Evaluates student and group performance. Recommends program improvements.
Essential Functions:
Typical Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Promotes interest and encourages students to participate in programs of the Learning Resources Center.
- Keeps records of enrollment, performance, and individual improvement.
- Prepares instructional materials.
- Administers, scores, and interprets learning skills development tests and simulated graduated tests.
Marginal Functions:
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervision:
Received: Receives supervision from Director of Student Union, Student Activities and Special Services.
Given: Occasional to clerical personnel and student assistants.
Education:
Required: Bachelor’s degree with concentration in the field of learning development.

Accuracy – Proficiency in all phases of work performed.

If this is a supervisory position, the incumbent is expected to complete required supervisory training; orient, train and develop subordinates; provide appropriate coaching, guidance and supervision to subordinates; and complete annual performance evaluations.

Responsible for duties as assigned relating to internal controls including safe-guarding of department assets, reliability of department financial information, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
