Coordinator, Women’s Center

Summary:

Function & Scope: Develop, evaluate programs and events, and perform campus outreach duties for students, staff and faculty.

Essential Functions:

Typical Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Coordinate campus outreach activities.
  • Perform student orientations.
  • Prepare and deliver class presentations on Women’s Center services.
  • Assist in the coordination and development of annual trademark events.
  • Meet with student groups and organizations.
  • Attend and facilitate focus groups and meetings with students, faculty and staff.
  • Develop assessment and evaluation tools.
  • Participate in the promotion of events.
  • Evaluates and assesses programs and events.

Marginal Functions:

Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervision:

Received: General Supervision - Incumbent develops own ways to effectively perform a variety of duties or performs complex duties within established policy guidelines; responsible for a defined set of assignments, expected to determine and create procedures to set priorities and meet goals.

Education:

Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.

Preferred: N/A

Experience:

Required: Minimum of three years of related experience.

Preferred: Campus outreach and programming coordination experience preferred.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Computer proficiency, event coordination, strong interest or experience working with gender issues or experience working with a campus women’s center.

Special Job Requirements (such as hours, accuracy, special equipment and/or working conditions):

Occasional evening and weekend hours.

Other:

If this is a supervisory position, the incumbent is expected to complete required supervisory training; orient, train and develop subordinates; provide appropriate coaching, guidance and supervision to subordinates; and complete annual performance evaluations.

Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification may render the position security sensitive; thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.

Responsible for duties as assigned relating to internal controls including safe-guarding of department assets, reliability of department financial information, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents, in lieu of stated minimums, require the prior written approval of the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources Management.
