Summary:
Function & Scope: To provide administrative and supervisory skills in the management of the registrar’s office. Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the registrar’s office, including the maintenance of academic records of applicants and students.
Essential Functions:
Typical Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Supervises clerical personnel answering counter requests, opening and answering mail to be processed as routine, recording and filing, supplying Photostats.
- Answers requests of a complex nature, refers those which are highly complex, controversial, or specialized to the Registrar and Director of Admissions or appropriate assistant.
- Interviews parents, students, faculty members with special requests.
- Counsels students concerning University registration.
Marginal Functions:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Assists in the work of an overloaded section.
- Interviews prospective records personnel.
- Coordinates work of the office with other University agencies for registration periods.
Supervision:
Received: General review of overall effectiveness of the Records Office by the Registrar and Director of Admissions.
Given: Close supervision to new clerical employees, general supervision of advanced clerical personnel who in turn supervise others.
Education:
Required: Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred: N/A
Experience:
Required: Three years of experience in related admissions activities.
Preferred: N/A
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Standard office equipment. Computer proficiency.
Special Job Requirements (such as hours, accuracy, special equipment and/or working conditions):
Maintenance of records and information given must be extremely accurate.
Other:
If this is a supervisory position, the incumbent is expected to complete required supervisory training; orient, train and develop subordinates; provide appropriate coaching, guidance and supervision to subordinates; and complete annual performance evaluations.

Responsible for duties as assigned relating to internal controls including safe-guarding of department assets, reliability of department financial information, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents, in lieu of stated minimums, require the prior written approval of the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources Management.
