Summary:
Function & Scope: To direct and supervise a major unit engaged in research and education and to oversee the technical aspects. Responsible for the supervision of the technical and mechanical aspect of the running of the major unit.
Essential Functions:
Typical Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:
- To coordinate the functioning of the technical and mechanical equipment that is essential for the running of a major research and education unit.
- Determines the efficiency of technologies.
Marginal Functions:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- To maintain the day to day running of the infrastructure in which the major unit is housed.
Supervision:
Received: Involved in consultations with the director of the major unit.
Given: Supervises support personnel.
Education:
Required: At least a B.S. in appropriate areas.
Preferred: N/A
Experience:
Required: At least 5 years of relevant experience.
Preferred: N/A
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of computers (software and hardware), expertise in electrical equipment, machinery, etc.

If this is a supervisory position, the incumbent is expected to complete required supervisory training; orient, train and develop subordinates; provide appropriate coaching, guidance and supervision to subordinates; and complete annual performance evaluations.

Responsible for duties as assigned relating to internal controls including safe-guarding of department assets, reliability of department financial information, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
