Summary:
Function & Scope:
To supervise the installation, operation, and maintenance of utility equipment. Responsible for planning and inspecting, and for planning and assigning Utility Station Operators and other EMS Personnel.
Essential Functions:
Typical Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Assigns work schedules; initiates work procedures.
- Inspects mechanical and electrical utilities equipment and initiates action for maintenance and repairs.
- Coordinates, monitors and inspects maintenance performed by outside contractors.
- Initiates requisitions for supplies and equipment.
- Coordinates utilities operations with the EMS Superintendent.
- Continuously reviews all systems to improve efficiency for energy conservation.
- Inspects mechanical and electrical systems while under construction in new facilities to ensure efficient operation after start-up.

Supervise Maintenance Workers, Utilities Operators and Electronic Technicians.
Education:
Required: High school or equivalent education.
Preferred: Trade school or other advanced related training/education.
Experience:
Required:
Five years of experience in the operation and maintenance of steam generating, power generating, refrigeration, and/or data acquisition equipment, including a minimum of two years in a supervisory capacity.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Skill in the use of HVAC and electrical trouble shooting tools and instruments.

If this is a supervisory position, the incumbent is expected to complete required supervisory training; orient, train and develop subordinates; provide appropriate coaching, guidance and supervision to subordinates; and complete annual performance evaluations.

Responsible for duties as assigned relating to internal controls including safe-guarding of department assets, reliability of department financial information, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents, in lieu of stated minimums, require the prior written approval of the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources Management.
