Maintenance Coordinator

Summary:

Function & Scope: Will coordinate maintenance jobs on campus under the general direction of the Maintenance Superintendent

Essential Functions:

Typical Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Will visit job sites/areas in need of repair; review work done to verify job satisfaction and relay information to the department.
  • Attend maintenance/contractor/Safety committee meetings.
  • Communicate via email, phone calls, and personal meetings the directives that are needed for services provided by Facilities Maintenance.
  • Review work orders submitted through the on-line system.

Marginal Functions:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Gathers statistical data on patient problems, patient compliance with regimen, and patient follow-up.

Supervision:

Received: General- Incumbent develops own ways to effectively perform a variety of duties or performs complex duties within established policy guidelines; responsible for a defined set of assignments, expected to determine and create procedures to set priorities and meet goals.

Education:

Required: High school diploma.

Preferred: N/A

Experience:

Required: 7 years maintenance experience; certified HVAC operator or licensed electrician/plumber; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred: Previous UTD or Other University maintenance experience.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

N/A

Special Job Requirements (such as hours, accuracy, special equipment and/or working conditions):

Extreme accuracy in all phases of work.

Other:

If this is a supervisory position, the incumbent is expected to complete required supervisory training; orient, train and develop subordinates; provide appropriate coaching, guidance and supervision to subordinates; and complete annual performance evaluations.

Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification may render the position security sensitive; thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.

Responsible for duties as assigned relating to internal controls including safe-guarding of department assets, reliability of department financial information, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents, in lieu of stated minimums, require the prior written approval of the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources Management.
