Summary:
Function & Scope: To provide responsible accounting and telecommunications skills to ascertain problems and needs of telephone services and equipment. Responsible -for processing and maintaining accounting procedures, standards, and guidelines within the telecommunications function.
Essential Functions:
Typical Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Program and maintain telephone system software
- Place and monitor vendor orders
- Assist in the installation of new telephones
- Assist in processing billings to departments
- Process monthly reports from on-site processor for long-distance usage and trunk usage
- Update station information and cable records.
Marginal Functions:
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervision:
Received: Reports directly to the Director of Telecommunications.
Given: Past supervision of receptionist/clerical positions.
Education:
Required: High School graduation, Northern Telecom BL-1, IPMENT

Experience:
Required: Eight years of experience required.

Special Job Requirements (such as hours, accuracy, special equipment and/or working conditions):
Usual working conditions primarily office/switch room work. Installation of telephones requires working in telephone closets and offices throughout the campus.

If this is a supervisory position, the incumbent is expected to complete required supervisory training; orient, train and develop subordinates; provide appropriate coaching, guidance and supervision to subordinates; and complete annual performance evaluations.

Responsible for duties as assigned relating to internal controls including safe-guarding of department assets, reliability of department financial information, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents, in lieu of stated minimums, require the prior written approval of the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources Management.
