Summary:
Function & Scope: Leadership and management of the service functions of the Facilities Management organization.
Essential Functions:
Typical Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Plans and organizes the activities necessary to effectively operate the organization, including determination of staffing needs, budget requirements and reimbursable costs.
- Responsible for the functional areas of Custodial, including recycling, Grounds, Moving/Events, Vehicle Maintenance and Accessibility.
- Lead and supervise the supervisors of the above functions.
- Develop and apply technical policies, standards and procedures which support productive and orderly provision of required services.
- Review effectiveness and efficiency of how facilities services are provided to the campus.
- Develop formal and on-the-job training programs which provide personal development to all employees and keep them knowledgeable in the skills required by their functional area.
- Manage vehicles, equipment and tool inventories.

- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervision:
Received: Supervision - : General Direction: : Receives guidance in terms of broad goals and overall objectives and establishes own methods to attain goals. Only final results are reviewed.
Given: Supervises staff.
Education:
Required: Higher education degree and professional certification in a related functional area.

Experience:
Required: Five years of experience in a supervisory position responsible for providing facilities services or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid State of Texas driver's license.

Valid State of Texas driver's license. Extreme accuracy in all phases of work.

If this is a supervisory position, the incumbent is expected to complete required supervisory training; orient, train and develop subordinates; provide appropriate coaching, guidance and supervision to subordinates; and complete annual performance evaluations.
Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification may render the position security sensitive; thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
Responsible for duties as assigned relating to internal controls including safe-guarding of department assets, reliability of department financial information, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents, in lieu of stated minimums, require the prior written approval of the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources Management.
