Summary:
Function & Scope: To provide skills in the area of plumbing, electrical maintenance/repair, carpentry, or painting. Responsible for performing tasks in a specific area.
Essential Functions:
Typical Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Electrical - install, maintain, repair electrical motors and switches, circuit breakers, outlets, fixtures, fittings, and accessories.
- Plumbing - install and repair all plumbing in new construction or remodeling.
- Carpentry - stains and refinishes furniture, and performs other general carpentry work connected with remodeling and construction.
- Painting - prepares surfaces prior to applying any one of a variety of coverings. Taping and bedding and other conditioning work in connection with new construction or remodeling.
- Utilities Operations - operates building automated control system (CDAS) and other FTVAC equipment. At the Callier Center operates energy plant, maintains water sampling and chemical analysis of cooling water.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervision:
Received: General supervision from Foreman.
Given: Supervises 1 or more level I or II Maintenance Workers. Sometimes level IV also.
Education:
Required: High school graduation.
Preferred: N/A
Experience:
Required: Four years of experience in a specific craft/trade.
Preferred: N/A
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of the use of equipment of the building and mechanical trades. Accuracy in the use of tools and equipment, thoroughness in the application of safety principles.
Special Job Requirements (such as hours, accuracy, special equipment and/or working conditions):
Proficiency in all phases of the work performed. Conditions usually related to trades employees in areas of reconstruction or remodeling. Responsible for the design, execution, and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, financial information is reliable, and applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures are complied with.
Other:
If this is a supervisory position, the incumbent is expected to complete required supervisory training; orient, train and develop subordinates; provide appropriate coaching, guidance and supervision to subordinates; and complete annual performance evaluations.

Responsible for duties as assigned relating to internal controls including safe-guarding of department assets, reliability of department financial information, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
