Summary:

Function & Scope:

This position will be responsible for sorting, logging and delivery of all incoming and outgoing mail and packages to all UTD campuses ensuring timely delivery of supplies and mail.

Essential Functions:

Typical Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Sort incoming mail and packages.
  • Log all track-able packages to all departments and campuses.
  • Prepare and deliver outgoing mail and packages using mail equipment or online shipping software.
  • Receive incoming freight.
  • Track packages using online shipping software.
  • Lift up to 70 pounds in performing these functions.

Marginal Functions:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Driving.
  • Customer service.
  • Answering phones and email.

Specific Supervision - Incumbent performs standard and routine assignments independently to conclusion; unusual problems and exceptions to procedures or processes are referred to the supervisor.

High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

Experience:

Required:

One year experience in receiving/mail processing.

Preferred:

Two years experience in receiving/mail processing.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of USPS regulations and ability to use automated mail equipment, pallet jacks and forklift. Must be able to lift 70 pounds.

Special Job Requirements (such as hours, accuracy, special equipment and/or working conditions):

Texas Driver’s License.

If this is a supervisory position, the incumbent is expected to complete required supervisory training; orient, train and develop subordinates; provide appropriate coaching, guidance and supervision to subordinates; and complete annual performance evaluations.

Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification may render the position security sensitive; thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.

Responsible for duties as assigned relating to internal controls including safe-guarding of department assets, reliability of department financial information, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
