Summary:
Function & Scope: To provide responsible clerical work in connection with maintaining detailed inventory records. Responsible for assisting in for maintenance of data for the equipment, space, and key inventories through the use of a computer.
Essential Functions:
Typical Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Assigns property numbers and affixes identifying property tags to new equipment.
- Prepares work papers showing identifying property numbers and equipment transfers or deletions.
- Records the selling of surplus or obsolete equipment.
- Maintains inventory records on equipment showing cost and location.
- Assists in annual physical inventory of equipment, furniture, fixtures, etc.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of standard office equipment, including computer and calculator.
Special Job Requirements (such as hours, accuracy, special equipment and/or working conditions):
Proficiency required in all phases of work. Usual office conditions. In some cases, exposure to outside weather. Must have valid Texas Driver’s license.
Other:
If this is a supervisory position, the incumbent is expected to complete required supervisory training; orient, train and develop subordinates; provide appropriate coaching, guidance and supervision to subordinates; and complete annual performance evaluations.

Responsible for duties as assigned relating to internal controls including safe-guarding of department assets, reliability of department financial information, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
