Texas Public Information Act
The Texas Public Information Act governs access to public information. For additional information about accessing public information at the University of Texas at Dallas, follow the links shown in the related links box on the right.
Also in the related links box on the right is a brochure which describes the types of information within employment files that are subject to, or excepted from, public disclosure under the Texas Public Information Act. The brochure describes the types of information generally maintained in an employee's file, indicates whether it is public or confidential information, and provides the authority for the determination. For more complete information, this brochure should be used with the Public Information Handbook distributed by the Office of the Attorney General of the State of Texas. The brochure is not a statement of official policy of UT Dallas or The University of Texas System, but is provided as an educational and informational tool to employees.
