An immigrant is a foreign national who has been authorized to live and work permanently in the United States. At The University of Texas at Dallas, faculty, scholars and staff generally obtain Permanent Residency in the United States through employment-based immigration.
The office of Human Resources Management does not process permanent resident petitions. Human Resources Management will assist the employee and the employee’s attorney with the processing of the permanent resident petition. Once the completed Request for Assistance With Employee Permanent Resident Petition has been received, the applicant will need to select one of the attorneys on contract with UTD.
