Export/Backup
- Open Internet Explorer
- Click on Tools
- Click on Internet Options
- Click on the Content tab

- Click on the Certificates button
- Highlight the certificate that you want to export (Please do ONE certificate at a time).
- Click on the Export button

- Welcome to the certificate Export Wizard, click Next

- Choose Yes, export the private key, click Next

- Make sure the Person Information Exchange button is selected and that the "Include all certificates in the certification path if possible" and "Export all extended properties" boxes are checked. The second box to be checked may be labeled as "Enable Strong Protection". DO NOT check the "Delete the private key if the export is successful". Click Next. You will have to give the file a password. Do not forget the password. Click Next.
[The screen shot below is for XP. Vista and Windows 7 users will see the check boxes in a different order.]

- Click the Browse button and select your H drive. Type a name for the file. We recommend that you name the files with the expiration date of the file you are saving. If two of the files have the same date, then name them _1 and _2. IE: Dec_12_2010_1, Dec_12_2010_2. Click on Next.

- Click Finish
Import/Install on another computer
- Open Internet Explorer
- Click on Tools
- Click on Internet Options
- Click on the Content
- Click on the Certificates button
- Click on the Import button

- Click Next

- Enter the address where the Digital ID is located.

- Enter the password you used to save the Digital ID.

- Allow Windows to select the certificate store.

- Click Finish to complete the installation of the Digital ID.

- You will get the message that the import was successful and the certificate will show in the certificate list.
