Digital Certificates: How to use your Digital IDs to sign and encrypt e-mail using Mac Mail

Sending mail

  1. Open a new message
  2. Address the mail
  3. Click either the Sign or the Encrypt icons or both



  4. Compose your message
  5. Send your message
  6. The first time you send an encrypted or signed mail, Mac Mail will ask you to confirm that you want to allow access to your certificate. Click Always Allow.
