Digital Certificates: How to verify I have a current valid certificate

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Click Tools
  3. Click Internet Options
  4. Click Content tab
  5. Click Certificates
  6. You will need to know what type of certificates you have. If you enrolled for certificates after Jan 1, 2011, then you have InCommon certificate. Otherwise you have VeriSign certificates.
  7. InCommon Certificate - verify that you have a certificate that expires after today's date.
  8. VeriSign Certificates - verify that you have two certificates that expires after today's date.
  9. If you have No Certificates, then you will need to enroll for a new certificate
  10. If you have VeriSign Certificates and only see one that expires after today's date, please send email to infosecurity@utdallas.edu with your Name, NetID and the issue you have.
