The security field is changing rapidly, and some of the old paradigms and "givens" no longer are. Since the advent of the internet and the interconnection of literally hundreds of millions of computers worldwide, much of the old wisdom about security no longer applies. In this new environment, almost nothing can be taken for granted.
Many of the articles here were written by local security staff. However, the article on social engineering, which examines how criminals obtain information that can be used to attack computers, was written by an independent author and made freely available on the internet.
