International Students
To learn how you can request a waiver for up to three semesters, read Annual Waivers for more information.
Waiver period for Fall '09 has ended. Insured students will begin receiving their insurance card by mail shortly
More information is available at Waivers.
The Board of Regents of The University of Texas System requires all international students to have approved health insurance and repatriation/evacuation coverage while enrolled at any UT Dallas institution.
This applies to all students who are not US Citizens, lawful US Permanent Residents, Asylees, Refugees or undocumented aliens. This fee is assessed automatically when you enroll for classes and changes each semester.
The SHI Office (MC1.310) issues waivers of this fee for students who meet established eligibility criteria to prove that they have comparable coverage to meet the UT System requirement.
Studying Abroad
If you are studying abroad, and you do not want to have the student health insurance while traveling, you will need to submit a waiver prior to the end of the waiver period as well.
