Introducing Intercom: New Info Source for UT Dallas Faculty and Staff
Welcome to Intercom, the University's new information source compiled primarily for faculty and staff members. The Office of Communications has created this periodic electronic publication to create a searchable, periodic messaging source that will help reduce the need for single-subject messages in the form of email.
Intercom's most important function will be to share critical information with University employees so that they can make the most of their working hours and function more smoothly as part of the UT Dallas family.
Employee benefits and how to make the best of them will be a key topic. So will improvements to business processes and technology, important deadlines and key personnel changes. Notices about training will be featured, as will information about faculty and staff organizations and events on campus.
The content itself will come from a variety of sources – one of which can be you. If your department has an event to promote, training classes to advertise, or a person who has won a professional award, we hope you will be in touch. Stories and items will refer readers to your department's Web pages, which should carry most of the information you wish to share. The Intercom Guidelines page details the kinds of content that’s appropriate and how it can be submitted.
Intercom will appear approximately two times a month, with the schedule subject to change as warranted. It is addressed to every faculty and staff member. Because Intercom is regarded as an official information channel between the University and its employees, distribution is automatic.
If you would like to share a topic idea or have a question, please write to us at [email protected]. Your comments and suggestions about Intercom are welcome.
