State Employee Charitable Campaign Drive Opens With $150,000 Goal for UT Dallas

The University is one week into this year's State Employee Charitable Campaign. This year's goal is to raise $150,000. UT Dallas faculty and staff members have been using the online site to pledge gifts under the second year of the drive's paperless system. UT Dallas helped roll out the first online campaign drive last year. READ MORE

Series to Celebrate Diversity Awareness Month
Dr. Magaly Spector

A talk about world religions launched the University's first Diversity Lecture Series. "These lectures will help our students, staff and faculty to become more culturally competent and to better prepare them as leaders in our multicultural and global society," said Dr. Magaly Spector, vice president for diversity and community engagement. Programming Camp Discounts Available

Elementary, middle and high school children of UT Dallas employees will receive a 50 percent discount on early registration fees for computer programming camps in October and November held by the UT Dallas Computer Science Outreach program. The programming camps are held on student holidays of Dallas-area school districts. READ MORE

Office of Research Schedules Classes in Certificate Series

The Office of Research offers a certificate series that takes faculty and staff through the essential components of sponsored projects and the steps needed to administer research at UT Dallas throughout the life of a project – from finding funding opportunities to closing out grant accounts. Two classes are open to staff members in October:

"Technology Commercialization"
Oct. 8, 10 a.m.

"Reporting and Closeouts"
Oct. 22, 10 a.m.

Employee Flu Shot Clinic
Nov. 7-8

Free flu shots will be available for faculty, staff and student workers with proof of insurance, $10 without.
