North Texas Giving Day September 17 Join thousands of North Texans in making an important difference
North Texas Giving Day, an online philanthropy drive that benefits programs at UT Dallas, is scheduled to run this year from 6 a.m. to midnight on Thursday, Sept. 17. Employees who want to support the University will find UT Dallas, the Callier Center for Communication Disorders and the Center for BrainHealth listed as featured charities on the North Texas Giving Day website. Center for Children and Families Extends Invitation to Forum

The keynote speaker will be Dr. P. Lindsay Chase-Lansdale of Northwestern University.
The Center for Children and Families invites staff and faculty members to its annual forum, which will explore the theme of “Empowering Children and Parents Together: The Promise of Two-Generation Programs.” The forum is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 25, in the Faculty-Staff Dining Room. The keynote speaker will be Dr. P. Lindsay Chase-Lansdale, a professor of human development and social policy at Northwestern University. Her research focuses on social issues and their effects on families and the development of children and youths. Email [email protected] for more information.

Visitors and Questions Welcome at Payroll Open House

The Payroll Office invites UT Dallas employees to meet the payroll team and celebrate National Payroll Week at an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, in AD 2.224. The staff will answer questions about paychecks and other payroll-related issues.

Wellness Manager and Dietitian to Meet With Employees

Staffers are invited to meet Deborah Hamlin, a UT Dallas wellness manager and registered dietitian who will offer free nutrition coaching services to employees, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, in the SPN Wellness Center. The center, which is on the first floor of the Synergy Park North building, also will be open for tours and available soon for employee use.

President ad interim Hobson Wildenthal will present the 2015 State of the University Address at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, in the Edith O’Donnell Arts and Technology Building Lecture Hall (ATC 1.102).

Corporate Challenge Sign-ups
Staff and faculty members can still run, swim or swing a bat in the games remaining in this year’s Corporate Challenge. The games run through Oct. 16. Download the sign-up sheet.

9th Annual Preparedness Fair
In recognition of National Preparedness Month, UT Dallas Environmental Health and Safety will host its 9th Annual Preparedness Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at The Plinth.

National Bone Marrow Registry Drive
The Office of Student Volunteerism will host a Bone Marrow Donor Drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, in the Student Union Galaxy Rooms (SU 2.602). Read More
