UT Dallas is pleased to announce that effective August 15th, 2008, Time Warner Cable Business Class, in partnership with UTD, will launch HiSpeedUp™ - advanced on-demand high-speed internet service to residents of the University Village Apartments! Along with Internet service, TWC will also be providing the apartments with Standard Video Service (Basic Cable). Both of these services are FREE, as they are included as part of the University Village enhanced amenities package.
Please note that these services are only available to residents of University Village (Phases 5-9). Waterview Park residents (Phases 1-4) will not experience any change to their current internet or cable setup.

Next Steps for current Time Warner Cable (TWC) Standard Cable TV customers:
If you currently subscribe to TWC TV service, you don’t have to take any action. After August 15th, 2008, you will
no longer receive a separate bill for your Standard Cable TV service. However, if you are currently subscribed to
additional TWC TV service tiers or other TWC services, your bill will be adjusted to reflect the changes.
Next Steps for current TWC Road Runner High-speed Internet customers:
To transition your current TWC Road Runner High-speed Internet service to FREE HiSpeedUp Internet service, you
will need to take the following actions before August 31, 2008:
- Visit http://www.hispeedup.com to register and experience HiSpeedUp Internet!
- After you register for HiSpeedUp, call 866-380-5787 (option 1) before August 31, 2008, Monday – Friday,
between the hours of 8 AM and 6 PM CST to cancel your current Road Runner High-speed Internet
service. After August 31, 2008, TWC Road Runner High-Speed Internet Service will be discontinued.
Next Steps for current Wireless Internet customers:
No action is required. The Wireless Internet service will not be available after October 1, 2008.
Registration Instructions (Please complete by August 31st, 2008!)
- Please carry out these instructions only in your apartment!
- If you have internet, simply navigate to www.hispeedup.com.
- If you do NOT have internet, start by connecting your PC directly to the ethernet port in the wall using an ethernet cable, and power on your PC. If you have a wireless card, be sure to disable that so it won't conflict with the built-in ethernet card. Then, pull up your Internet browser, and you should be automatically directed to a welcome page.
- Navigate through the instructions to set up your personalized Internet account for access.
- You must click on the HiSpeedUp graphic to create a new user login (Please note that this is not the same as your UTD NetID and password!).
- Once you create your profile, it will prompt you to "Upgrade Now" or "Maybe Later"
- Selecting "Upgrade Now" will give you the chance to experience greater speeds, but at an extra cost to you
- Selecting "Maybe Later" will redirect you to a default browser, and you will then have Internet! If you wish to upgrade later, you may do so by editing your account online
Note: Once you shut down or log off the internet, your default settings will be restored. After your initial login, you will no longer need to re-login to access the internet.

- It is recommended that you create a HiSpeedUp username and password that is different from your UTD NetID and password.
- Save your login credentials for future use.
- You must sign up for HiSpeedUp before you call to cancel your current Road Runner Hi-speed Internet service.
The free internet setup provided to residents includes Standard level HiSpeedUp, which has a download rate of 3Mbps and an upload rate of 3Mbps. However, for those who want faster speeds, you can register for an advanced level of HiSpeedUp. Why can't I connect to the internet?
Make sure you have a working ethernet cable connected from the data port in the wall plate to your network card in your PC.
Adding devices?
Login to your HiSpeedUp account. Make sure you add all devices after initially setting up your HiSpeedUp account. Once registered, login to your account and place all MAC addresses
from the devices that you want to use in your HiSpeedUp account. This will enable the device that you have selected to use in the future once you click on save.
I have a working Ethernet cable correctly connected, but why don't I have a green or amber link light on my network card?
For Windows 95, 98, ME, and 2000 Users:
- Click the Start button located in the bottom left-hand corner of your desktop
- Select Settings -> Control Panel
- Double click the Network Connections icon
- Locate the Local Area Connection icon and right click it
- Select "Enable"
For Windows XP users:
- Click the Start button located in the bottom left-hand corner of your desktop

7. Are there any contracts associated with HiSpeedUp from Time Warner Cable Business Class?
No contracts are associated with the HiSpeedUp product. HiSpeedUp is part of the enhanced amenity package as
a result of Time Warner Cable Business Class’ partnership with your apartment community. You can also sign up for
bandwidth-on-demand, which allows you to customize your bandwidth, when you want it.
8. May I use my current email address to register for HiSpeedUp?
You may keep any email address that you are currently using or have used in the past and is still active. Make sure
to use an active email address when you sign up for HiSpeedUp.
9. How can I add my gaming devices to my account?
Once logged in into your HiSpeedUp account, you will see a “Support” link in the upper right hand corner. Click on
the link, then access the User Guide to view “Add Additional Devices to Your Account” section. You can also click on
the “How do I add my gaming console to my account?” in the FAQ's under the Support link.
10. Will I have to always log in after i register for HiSpeedup?
No, once you register and log-in you will no longer need to login to access the Internet. Remember, if you choose
to upgrade in the future you will need your username and password to access your account. Please save these two
pieces information for future use. You will always need to add devices!
11. What happens to my original settings on my browser after I register?
Nothing is removed, once you register and sign off the Internet or shut down, all your settings will be restored the
next time you access the internet.

14. How many devices can I add onto my account?
You can add up to 5 devices on your default speed that your property provides currently. Anything over 5 devices will
result in poor speeds and will require you to upgrade to a higher bandwidth. (Devices can be anything such as all
Xbox consoles, Playstation consoles, Wii, routers, printers, etc.
