How To... Request and Install Digital Certificates


Digital certificates can be requested through a Windows Vists, Windowx XP, Mac OS X or Linux systems.
  1. Login into https://rootdc2.utdallas.edu/certsrv with your own NetID.



  2. Select Download a CA certificate, certificate chain, or CRL.



  3. Under CA certificate: select Current [ROOTDC2(3)].
    Under Encoding method: select DER.
    Select Download CA certificate



  4. Click Save.



  5. Save your digital certificate to your Desktop, use the default file name, click on Save.



  6. Your digital certificate is saved on your desktop. The next steps will guide you on installing the digital certificate.
    Right click     on your digital certificate and then left click on Install PFX.



  7. You will now be importing your digital certificate using the Certificate Import Wizard, click Next.



  8. Use the default file name and path, click Next.



  9. Select Place all certificates in the following store, click Browse....



  10. Select Trusted Root Certification Authorities, click OK.



  11. Click Next.



  12. To complete the import click Finish.



  13. To install the digital certificate, click Yes.



  14. Certificate Import Wizard in now completed, click OK.
