How To... Install and Configure Microsoft Office Communicator 2005 for Vista for Home
In order to use Office Communicator 2005 you will need to request to be placed on LCS 2005 by calling the HelpDesk at ext. 2911.
Office Communicator 2005 is for Windows Vista users only.
- You will need to obtain communicator.msi from Allshare using WebDav. Once you have downloaded communicator run the msi. Click Next to continue.
- Select I accept the terms in the License Agreement, click Next.
- The Product Key is automatically populated with correct product key. Click Next to continue.
- Configure Microsoft Office Communicator 2005, we will use the default settings, click Next.
- Installing Microsoft Office Communicator 2005 status window.
- Installation has completed, click Finished.
- Proceed to Step Two.
- Click the Vista logo, select All Programs and click Microsoft Office Communicator 2005
- Depending on your Windows Vista firewall settings you might get a Windows Security Alter window. Select Unblock to allow Windows Messenger to access the internet.
- You will get a Welcome to Microsoft Office Communicator 2005, click on Close.
- On Microsoft Office Communicator select Action, then click on Options...
- Select the Accounts tab.
- Under My account name enter your NetID in the Sign-in Name:.
Click Advanced...
- Advanced Connection Settings select Configure settings.
Enter utdlcs2005.campus.ad.utdallas.edu in the Server name or IP address:.
Connect using: select TLS.
Click OK.
- On the Options window click OK
.
- You are now ready to sign-in to Microsoft Office Communicator.
Click on Connect and select Sign In
- Enter your Sign-in name:
Click OK
- Enter your User name:
Enter your Password:
Cick OK
