All UTD Staff and Faculty now have access to use the new Live Communications Server. Live Communication Server (LCS) allows secure instant messaging with other UTD faculty and staff members. All communications are encrypted for Windows 2000 and Windows XP computers on the CAMPUS domain when using the Windows Messenger 5.1. Windows Messenger 5.0 is the client software that is used to communicate through LCS. NOTE: MSN Messenger is a different instant messaging client, and does not offer secure communications The Campus domain has a group policy setup to install Windows Messenger on every computer which is a member of the campus domain. If you do not have Windows Messenger installed on your computer, reboot your machine. Rebooting should force Windows Messenger to install.
