How To... Configure Microsoft Messenger:Mac 2008

  1. Open Macintosh HD navigate to Microsoft Messenger (Application | Microsoft Office 2008 | Microsoft Messenger)
    Run Microsoft Messenger



  2. You will get the Setup Assistant, click Next



  3. Terms of Use, click Next



  4. Accept Terms of Use, click on Accept



  5. No previous versions of Messenger for Mac were found, click OK



  6. Account selection: select Corporate account, click Next



  7. Corporate account configuration.
    Enter your E-mail address: make sure you use your netid and not your PEA netid@utdallas.edu
    Enter your User ID: campus\netid
    Enter your Password, click Next



  8. The placement of the Messenger for Mac is optional. By default both Place Messenger for Mac in the Dock and Start Messenger for Mac when I start my computer are selected. Click Finish



  9. You should now see your NetID on Microsoft Messenger:mac. Click on Sign in.



  10. Enter your E-mail address: make sure you use your netid and not your PEA netid@utdallas.edu
    Enter your User ID: campus\netid
    Enter your Password, click Sign In
