How To... Install and Configure Microsoft Office Communicator 2005 for Vista for the Office


In order to use Office Communicator 2005 you will need to request to be placed on LCS 2005 by calling the HelpDesk at ext. 2911.
Office Communicator 2005 is for Windows Vista users only



  1. Navigate through Windows Explorer to AllShare (P:\Installs\Microsoft\Microsoft Office Communicator 2005\Communicator.msi). Run communicator.msi.



  2. Click Next to continue.



  3. Select I accept the terms in the License Agreement, click Next.



  4. The Product Key is automatically populated with correct product key. Click Next to continue.



  5. Configure Microsoft Office Communicator 2005, we will use the default settings, click Next.



  6. Installing Microsoft Office Communicator 2005 status window.



  7. Installation has completed, click Finished.



  8. Proceed to Step Two.



  1. Click the Vista logo, select All Programs and click Microsoft Office Communicator 2005.



  2. You will get a Welcome to Microsoft Office Communicator 2005, click on Close.



  3. On Microsoft Office Communicator select Action, then click on Options...



  4. Select the Accounts tab.



  5. Under My account name enter your NetID in the Sign-in Name:.
    Click OK



  6. Enter your NetID to sign-in.
