Business Systems
The Business Systems Group provides maintenance, development and support for enterprise application systems that sustain the administrative functions of the Division of Business Affairs at The University of Texas at Dallas. Business Affairs consists of Budget and Resource Planning, Finance, Human Resource Management, Procurement Management, Facilities Management, Environmental Health and Safety and University Police. These departments support the major administrative functions of financial management, budgets and reporting, facilities maintenance, police, human resources, payroll, purchasing, print shop, food service and bookstore.
The Business Systems Group consists of one manager and eight systems analysts/programmer analysts. Their primary responsibilities are two-fold:
- Maintenance, development and support of the legacy applications of HRS, FRS, BIS and several ancillary systems
- Participation in the Business Affairs ERP project for the implementation of the Oracle PeopleSoft Human Capital Management and Finance systems
The Business Affairs ERP project will entail a complete replacement of the legacy application systems with Oracle PeopleSoft Human Capital Management and Finance systems. Phase I begins September 1, 2009 with an end date of January 1, 2011 with the following go-live dates: Oracle PeopleSoft Finance = September 1, 2010; Oracle PeopleSoft Human Capital Management = January 1, 2011. The Business Systems Group uses the UT Dallas JIRA tool to manage requests for assistance with software and systems support. The following JIRA projects are available for requests:
