IP Telephony

Telecom has begun a pilot project in Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) in tandem with the Networking staff. We have chosen Avaya (www.avaya.com) for this endeavor and will deploy this new technology in the Waterview Science and Technology Center as well as scattered locations on main campus. A new voice mail system is being trialed as well. Look for future announcements on availability and features!

New billing and work order system

A new Pinnacle billing package is currently being implemented. The goal is to be operational next fall. Departments will be able to view monthly telephone bills on the web. Work orders will be placed on-line by departments, which will eliminate the mail delay and improve service.
