Telecom Services operators answer the main number 972-883-2111. They provide directory information, route calls and give general information about the University. The hours of coverage are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. At other times callers are given a recording.

The information the operators use to route calls to departments comes from a mixture of sources: old printed directories, class schedules and the UTD functional directory. The functional directory can be accessed on the website and is maintained by the Staff Council.

New centers or department numbers should be given to Mary-Margaret Echevarria at ext. 2690 so they can be added to the operator's listing.

The UTD personnel directory which is accessed via UTD's website is maintained by Human Resources.
