The Postmaster Staff are responsible for managing the electronic messaging infrastructure for the campus. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Maintenance of the SMTP/IMAP/POP servers
- Investigation of message routing problems
- Investigating SPAM abuses as reported to
spam@utdallas.edu - Maintenance of the Ecartis (Listar) listserv system
- Creation and management of IMAP Bulletin Boards, and other IMAP shared folders
- E-mail forwarding requests
- Requests for increases in message store quota
The Postmaster Staff do not support specific e-mail client applications, typically referred to as mail user agents (MUA's). Faculty/staff seeking assistance with an e-mail client should contact assist@utdallas.edu or call 972-883-2911. Students may visit one of the labs, or call 972-883-4878.
