WebCT Maintenance Planned for March 2 and 9 During Regular Maintenance Window

As many may recall, hardware upgrades for the WebCT environment were implemented in December. One device upgraded at that time was a router. The router was delivered from the factory with configuration settings different from those that are normally default settings. As a result, a performance problem was experienced in early January as soon as heavy load was placed on the system. To correct the performance problem and to provide time to assure there were no problems other than the router, we restored the WebCT environment to the original configuration. Subsequent testing has confirmed the router to have been the only identifiable problem

Information Resources will complete the hardware upgrades on March 2 and March 9. These actions will result in short WebCT service disruptions. The upgrade activity is intended to minimize inconvenience to the WebCT user community.

WebCT will not be available on Sunday, March 2, from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM CST. A second network route to the current WebCT database will be added. The current route will be maintained in a secondary status for redundancy purposes.

WebCT will not be available on Sunday, March 9, from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM CDT. The WebCT database will be migrated to the new database server and related network hardware will be implemented at this time.
