Darren Crone, School of Management

Darren Crone is the eLearning Manager at The University of Texas at Dallas School of Management. He has worked in distance education since 1999 and is currently a doctoral candidate at Nova Southeastern University. His job duties include overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of over 60 graduate level online courses at the University of Texas at Dallas School of Management. He has presented his work at numerous prestigious professional conferences.

Mary Dziorny, Information Resources

Mary Dziorny is the Instructional Technology Coordinator at The University of Texas at Dallas. She has been working with technology in various aspects for over 20 years, and she has been an educator since 1996. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of North Texas. Her job duties include primary customer support for faculty, staff and students for WebCT and eLearning related technologies and faculty training and instructional support. Her primary areas of research include educational, or serious, gaming and alternative methods of instruction and assessments for dyslexics in higher education. In addition to her numerous presentations on behalf of UTD, she has also presented her research at the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE). Upgrading to WebCT CE6: You CAN Survive!

The University of Texas at Dallas is in the process of upgrading our campus of roughly 18,000 users from WebCT CE 4.1 to WebCT CE 6. In this session, we will discuss our upgrade, from the planning stages to full campus migration, including course content migration and training strategies.

Triple Migration at the University of Texas at Dallas

The University of Texas at Dallas is simultaneousy moving from WebCT Campus Edition 4.1 to WebCT Campus Edition 6, from SCT Mercury Message Broker(MMB) to LDI for e-Learning, and from Campus Pipeline to Luminus III.3 for the campus portal, which will have single sign-on to WebCT CE 6. In this session, we'll show some of the challenges this presented to the WebCT administration team and how we worked through them.

WebCT vs. Blackboard: Which Do Staff Prefer for Online Training?
The University of Texas at Dallas is developing online staff training courses and is faced with the dilemma of choosing an LMS to deliver the courses. UTD has both WebCT Campus Edition and Blackboard Basic already installed on campus.
