Connect to the CometNet Network on Windows Vista

1. Click on the network icon on the system tray. Click on Network and Sharing Center.



2. Click on Manage Wireless Networks.



3. Click Add.



4. Click Manually create a network profile.



5. For Network name type CometNet.
For Security type select WPA2-Enterprise.
For Encryption type select AES.
Select Connect even if the network is not broadcasting.
Click Next.

6. Click Change connection settings.

7. On the Connection tab select Connect automatically when network is in range and Connect even if the network is not broadcasting.
Click the Security tab.



8. Click Settings.



9. Click Validate Server Certificate.
Click Connect to these servers.
Fill in the input box with 8021x.utdallas.edu.
Under Trusted Root Certification Authorities select AddTrust External CA Root.
Select Enable fast reconnect.
Click Configure.



10. Uncheck Automatically use my Windows logon name and password.
Click OK until you get back to the Connect to a network window.



11. Click on CometNet and click Connect.



12. Click Enter/select additional information.



13. Enter your UTD Netid and Password.
Leave Logon Domain blank.
Click OK.



14. Wait while the software connects.



15. You should be connected successfully!
