Office Use (UTD Owned Equipment)

Office Use is completely different from Personal Use in one particular aspect that is vital to understand. In comparison to Personal Use, there is not a Authentification or Product Key that comes with your personally purchased program. UTD-Owned Computers

For UTD-owned computers, there are two methods to obtain the Microsoft software available through the UT-Microsoft Agreement for Technical Staff.

  1. Faculty and Staff may purchase departmental copies of the software through the UTD Tech Store, however, a product key will not be provided with the media.  They will be directed to their local Technical Support staff to provide this information. PLEASE NOTE: The volume license keys assigned to the University can be used by faculty and staff on departmental machines only, and should only be known to employees who have a need to manage University computer systems. Do not share these keys with others.
  2. For Technical Support staff, the ALLSHARE network share may be used to download select software titles and product keys will be available.  If a copy of the media is needed, it can be purchased from the Tech Store.
