Configure Outlook 2011 Mac OSX with UTD Zmail

 

The following instructions are for accessing the UTD Zmail server with Outlook 2011 for Mac OSX.

1. Open Outlook 2011 and select Outlook > Preferences > Accounts

2. Select E-mail Account then enter in your UTD email address and NetID password

3.  Enter in the following information in the fields provided then select Add Account

E-mail address: Your UTD email address

Password: Your NetID Password

User name: Your NetID

Type: IMAP

Incoming Server: zmail.utdallas.edu

Make sure Override default port and Use SSL to connect are checked.  Port# will be 993

Outgoing Server: smtpauth.utdallas.edu

Make sure Override default port and Use SSL to connect are checked.  Port# will be 587

4. The Zmail Account details will be displayed for you to review.  You can name your account in the Account description field. Under the Outgoing server section select More Options.

5. Authentication for the Outgoing server should be set to Use Incoming Server Info. Select OK. You have now successfully setup your UTD Zmail account.
