Connect to CometNet2 in Ubuntu Linux 8.10 “Intrepid Ibex”

1. Though your wireless adapter should automatically detect CometNet2, if it does not, left lick on the Network Manager icon in the upper left hand corner of your screen and select CometNet2 from the drop-down list.

2. Next you should see the following configuration window pop up

3. From the Authentication drop-down dialogue select Protected EAP (PEAP).

4. From the PEAP Version drop-down dialogue, select Version 0.

5.In the User Name and Password text-fields enter your netid and netid password respectively. 
Then click connect.

6. A dialogue will pop up stating that there is no certificate chosen, check the box that says “Don’t warn me again” and click ignore.

7. In the upper left hand corner the Network Manager icon should turn into two green spheres when attempting to connect to CometNet2.

8. The following balloon should pop up indicating your connectivity once the connection has been established.
