How To Enable Remote Desktop - Vista / Windows7


Using the following directions, you can change your power options in Vista or Windows7 so that you can use the Remote Desktop feature and still do tasks on your work computer.

***In order to finish setting up your desktop for Remote Access, you MUST enable remote access. Thankfully, we thought ahead and made a How-To that shows you how to do just that. Please go HERE before/after these changes have been made.***

Step 1 - Open Start and click Control Panel.

Step 2 - After you have opened the Control Panel, in the Classic View, find and open System.

Step 3 -After the System window is open, click on Remote Settings under the Tasks list on the left hand side of the window. Make sure that the box next to "Allow Remote Assistance connections to this computer" is unchecked, and click the radio button next to "Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop". Click OK to finish.
