How To Connect to the UTD VPN


The UTD VPN will allow you to access the UTD network from off campus. Below you will find instructions for logging into the VPN service and connecting to the UTD network.

NOTE: Though it is NOT related or necessary to do so, you can also use Remote Desktop access with VPN. For instructions on those, follow the link HERE.

Logging In

 

Step1) Open an internet browser (ie- Internet Explorer, FireFox, Safari, etc).

Step2) Go to http://utdvpn.utdallas.edu.

Step3) Enter your NetID and Password.

Step4) Select your Authentication Server. If you don't know what Authentication Server to choose, select Windows.

Step5) Click the Sign In button.

 

 

Connecting to the UTD Network

Step 1) After you log into the UTD VPN, you will see a Start button in the Client Application Sessions section of the screen, next to the Network Connect option. Click the Start button to connect to the UTD network.

Click the 'Start' Button

Wait for a few moments...

 

Step 2) During the connection process, two dialogue boxes should appear asking for your permission to proceed. Click the Run and Always buttons respectively.

 

Security Window.  Click Run

Setup Control.  Click Yes

 

Disconnecting and Checking Status

 

Step 1) At any time during your VPN session you can check the status of your connection, or disconnect, by double clicking the yellow lock icon 'Yellow Lock Icon' in your system tray (usually at the bottom right hand corner).

Click the 'Yellow Lock Icon' in the lower right hand corner of the screen

 

Step 2) If you wish to disconnect your session, click on the Sign Out button.

Click the 'Sign Out' Button

 

Step 3) The status should change from Connected to Please Wait, Disconnecting.

'Please wait, Disconnecting' should appear

Step 4) You should return to the Home Screen for the VPN page.
