Setup Lync on your Mobile Device
The Lync Mobile application lets you make and receive calls on your office extension, check your voicemail, use office chat, join conference calls, view your work calendar, and more, all through your mobile device.
What kind of mobile phone do you have?
Setting up Lync on your iPhone or iPad
- Open the App Store, search for Lync 2010 and install it. The icon for the app should look like this:

- Once installed, open the app and enter your NetID@utdallas.edu address in the top box and your password in the one below it. Then, tap on the More Details button.

- In the first box, above where it says “domain\username or someone@example.com” enter campus\NetID.

- Now scroll to the bottom and click on Sign In.
Setting up Lync on your Android device
- Open Google Play (previously Android Market), search for Lync 2010 and install it. The icon for the app should look like this:

- Once installed, open the app and enter your NetID@utdallas.edu in the box labelled “Sign-in Address” and your password in it’s box. Then, tap your phone’s menu button and tap on Options.”

- Tap on User name.

- Enter campus\(yourNetID) in the pop-up and tap Ok

- Tap your phone’s back button until you return to the Sign-in page, then tap on Sign in.

Using Lync with other mobile platforms
If your phone is not capable of downloading the Lync mobile application, or if you simply do not wish to install the Lync app on your phone, you can still take advantage of Call Forwarding by following the steps listed below.
Call Forwarding is controlled through the Lync desktop application. The Mac and PC application menus are slightly different, so pick your platform below:
Forwarding Calls from Lync in Windows
- In the Lync desktop application, click on the gear icon in the upper right corner. This is your Options panel.

- Click on Call Forwarding in the panel to the left.

- This panel controls your Call Forwarding settings. If you ever wish to turn off forwarding to your mobile, this is where you would do it.
Now choose either Forward my calls to: or Simultaneously ring:
- In the drop-down menu that activates after you choose, pick the option that best suits your needs.
If you choose to forward to, or simultaneously ring at, a number not in the directory, you can select New Number or Contact and type in your desired number.
Forwarding Calls from Lync on the Mac
- Open Lync Preferences from the menu bar, then go to the Phone Calls tab.

- This panel controls your Call Forwarding settings. If you ever wish to turn off forwarding to your mobile, this is where you would do it.
Now choose either Forward my calls to: or Simultaneously ring:, then select the appropriate option from the drop-down menu.
