Map a Network Drive

Before you begin, make sure you have:
- The path to the drive.
- Connected to the VPN (if off campus).
Jump to your platform:
Map a Network Drive with Windows 7
- Click on Start, then right-click Computer and click on Map Network Drive.
- In the Map Network Drive window
- Pick an available drive letter
Typical drive letters: Department: G AllShare: P Personal: H - Enter the path to the drive
Typical drive paths:
Department: \\campus\utd\deptdrives\deptsharename AllShare: \\campus.ad.utdallas.edu\utd\allshare Student Personal: \\olympus.utdallas.edu\NetID Staff Personal: \\campus.ad.utdallas.edu\utd\user\NetID - Check Reconnect at logon.
- VPN ONLY Check Connect using different credentials, then enter:
- Campus\NetID
- Password
- Pick an available drive letter
Map a Network Drive with Windows XP
- Click on Start, then right-click My Computer and click on Map Network Drive.
- In the Map Network Drive window
- Pick an available drive letter
Typical drive letters: Department: G AllShare: P Personal: H - Enter the path to the drive

- VPN ONLY Click Connect using a different username, then enter:
- Campus\NetID
- Password
- Pick an available drive letter
Map a Network Drive on Mac OSX
- Open a new Finder window, then type Command+K. This will open the Connect to Server panel.
- Enter the Server Address and click Connect.
Typical Server Addresses:
Department: smb://utdfp14/deptsharename$ Student Personal: smb://olympus.utdallas.edu/NetID Staff Personal: smb://utdfp14.utdallas.edu/users$/NetID - When the login panel appears, click on Registered User, then enter your NetID and Password.
