Quotas
All members of UTD have at least two separate quotas: Email and Disk.
Disk refers to your personal storage space on either the Unix or Windows servers. This is commonly called the “H” drive.
Email refers to the storage space allotted for your Zmail or Exchange mail and includes mail attachements.
You may request an increase on any of your quotas by contacting the Help Desk
Which quota do you want to check?
Check your Disk quota
All members of UTD have a directory on one of the Unix servers. Staff and Faculty may have access to departmental and/or additional personal disk space on one of the Windows servers.
Check your Unix disk quota/usage
- Log into your Unix account (ssh NetID@apache.utdallas.edu)
At the prompt, type in du -sh
This will display current disk usage. Default total storage (quota) is set to 300MB.
Check your Windows server quota
Run the QuotaInfo.bat batch file found at the root of the Allshare (P: drive) via the Command Prompt.
The default Windows server disk quota for Staff & Faculty is 2GB. The default quota for Departmental shares is 20GB.
Check your Email quota
- Go to Outlook Web Access or the Zmail web interface.
- After logging in with your NetID and Password, place your mouse cursor over your name and your current quota should be displayed.
