Use Infoserv

This is the server you need to use if you wish to retrieve files from your home directory when you are not enrolled in classes.

  1. Create an SSH connection to the Infoserv server. To establish an SSH connection, see How To Create an SSH Connection.

  2. If this is your first time trying to connect to Infoserv, you will be prompted accept the server key. Click Yes to continue.

  3. Login using your Netid and password. As you type in your password, you will not see an characters appear. Simply type it in and press Enter to proceed.

  4. From the main menu, select the File Transfer option. Press Enter to continue.

  5. From the File Transfer menu, select the Enable FTP option. Press Enter to continue.
    Note: Once you click Enable FTP, you will have a 30 minute time limit to use the feature. If you plan on using the server longer than that, you will need to go through the previous steps in order to enable a new ftp connection once your time runs out.

  6. At this point, you can close the SSH connection or press Enter to return to the main menu.

  7. Create an SFTP connection to the Infoserv server. To establish an SFTP connection, see How To Use SFTP .

  8. If this is your first time trying to connect to Infoserv, you will be prompted accept the server key. Click Yes to continue.

  9. You have now established an SFTP connection with the Infoserv server. You may now proceed to transfer files to and from your home directory.
