Microsoft Windows 7 Information

Microsoft Windows 7 is the operating system successor to Windows Vista, and was publicly released on October 22, 2009. 

Upgrading:

It is strongly recommended that a clean install of Windows 7 be performed when upgrading from Windows Vista.  NOTE: A clean install is required if you wish to upgrade from Windows XP. 

Before attempting an upgrade, be sure to check your computer specifications. The minimum requirements for Windows 7 are:

  • 2 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
  • 2 gigabyte (GB) RAM
  • 40 GB available hard disk space
  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
  • DVD Drive
