American Studies Advisor Dachang Cong was born and grew up in China. In 1991, he earned his Ph.D. from Yale University in cultural anthropology. He is a senior lecturer in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies . He teaches courses on American cultures, Chinese/East Asian cultures, and cross-cultural management. His book, When Heroes Pass Away, was published in 1997 by University Press of America. The book studies how the Chinese treat Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, and Deng Xiaoping. His articles on the Amish people in northern Indiana appeared in Ethnology, Journal of American Culture, and edited volumes. His current research interests include global economic crisis, cross-cultural communication, and the global digital revolution. |
