Welcome to UT-Dallas and the School of Interdisciplinary Studies. We hope that you will soon feel at home and that the resources available in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies will help you in your academic life. The School offers four degree programs: the Bachelor of Arts in American Studies; the Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies; the Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies; and the Master of Arts in Interdiscipinary Studies. You have chosen one of the Interdisciplinary Studies degrees because they allow you a broader learning experience and a wider perspective than provided by more traditional undergraduate majors. Because of their individualized focus and flexibility, they are appropriate both for students preparing to enter the workplace and for those who plan to continue their studies. Most of all, they serve those students who seek a thorough grounding in the arts and sciences, and business issues from an interdisciplinary perspective. Each student in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies is an active partner in the formulation of his or her program of study. Together with an academic advisor, you will devise an individual degree plan by drawing on all the resources of the University. The School of Interdisciplinary Studies also offers programs for Teacher Certification and Internships. Those who are preparing for college can also take advantage of the Academic Bridge Program.
