Basic BIOSIS indexes and abstracts over 370 core and popular
life science journals. Perfect for non-biology majors,
coverage includes the most recent four years only, and
is a good database for students doing research in agriculture,
ecology, nutrition, botany, physiology, public health,
as well as biology, biochemistry, and biotechnology. To

Citation Index
Science Citation Index, part of ISI's Web of Science,
is a multidisciplinary index, with searchable author abstracts,
citations, and bibliographies covering the journal literature
of the sciences, including agriculture, astronomy, neuroscience,
biology, pharmacology, physics, chemistry, computer science,
medicine, and zoology. The Science Citation Index indexes
more than 5,700 major journals and includes all cited
references for each article. Coverage begins in 1975.
Older paper indexes are available for 1965-1992 on Reference
Aisle 7A.

Science & Technology Collection
contains over 800 leading full text journals covering
relevant aspects of the scientific and technical community.
Topics include aeronautics, astrophysics, biology, chemistry,
computer technology, geology, aviation, physics, archaeology,
marine sciences and materials science. In addition to
the full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts
for more than 1,700 publications.

Scopus
SCOPUS is a multidisciplinary database
covering scientific, technical, medical and social science
literature – over 14,000 peer-reviewed titles from
4,000 publishers. Abstracts to over 25 million records
reach from present back to 1966 with selective linking
to full text. Specifically, SCOPUS covers topics in health,
life sciences, agricultural and biological sciences, chemistry,
physics, mathematics, engineering, earth and environmental
sciences, social science, psychology, and economics, business,
and management.

Compendex
(Engineering Village)
Compendex is a comprehensive bibliographic database of
engineering research, containing over 9.7 million references
and abstracts to over 5,000 engineering journals, conferences,
and technical reports. Engineering of all types is fully
represented: bioengineering, computer and technology,
electrical, chemical, material and process, nuclear, optical,
civil, agricultural, mechanical, petroleum, aerospace,
automobile, and all sub-disciplines. Coverage spans publications
dating from 1884 to present.

IEEE Xplore (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers)
[1950-present] is ideal for conducting research in the
field of electronics, electrical engineering, telecommunications,
wireless communications, and computer engineering. It
provides access to IEEE transactions, journals, magazines
conference proceedings and current IEEE standards. Complete
full-text is provided back to 1988, with select content

AGRICOLA
(agriculture)
AGRICOLA, created by the National Agricultural Library,
contains citations to agricultural literature. It covers
all aspects of agricultural science including animal and
veterinary sciences, entomology, plant sciences, forestry,
aquaculture and fisheries, farming, agricultural economics,
extension and education, food and human nutrition, and
earth and environmental sciences. AGRICOLA indexes and
cites books and book chapters, journal articles, government
reports, and audiovisual materials. It contains about
5 million records indexing materials as far back as the
15th century. Online help is available.

MEDLINE

Medline
Medline, produced by the U.S. National Library of Medicine,
is widely recognized as the premier source for bibliographic
and abstract coverage of biomedical literature. Medline
encompasses information in the areas of allied health,
biological and physical sciences, humanities and information
science as they relate to medicine and health care,
communication disorders, population biology, and reproductive
biology. More than 9,500 journals are indexed, with
abstracts provided for about half of these. Coverage

PubMed
PubMed, developed by the National Center for Biotechnology
Information (NCBI) at the U.S. National Library of Medicine,
provides access to citations and abstracts from biomedical
literature. Over 9,500 journals are indexed by PubMed
with coverage back to the 1965. Links to full-text articles
at other journal Web sites are provided for many of
the citations within PubMed. PubMed includes the Medline
database as well as in-process citations.

FirstSearch's Medline is one of the premier databases

literature. FirstSearch's Medline encompasses information

9,500 journals are indexed within FirstSearch's Medline.
