PAIS (Public Affairs Information Service) is an index to periodicals, books, and international, federal and state documents published since 1915. An excellent starting point for students and scholars of British life and world affairs in the nineteenth century, this database indexes the Times of London from 1790 to 1905. It also provides the full text of this newspaper from 1800 to 1870.  It is especially useful for researchers in the fields of history, politics, economics, business, the arts, and genealogy. PAPERSFIRST (index to conference papers) covers every published congress, symposium, conference, exposition, workshop and meeting received by the British Library from 1993 to the present. Extensive Help pages are available for basic, advanced and expert searches. PapersFirst is updated twice a month.
Originally published by Columbia University as a 17 volume printed set, The Papers of Alexander Hamilton are now available in online form.  The letters and other papers included span three decades and cover the years 1768 – 1794.  The database can be searched by keyword, personal name, state, and date range.  A Cumulative Index is available.
A landmark in historical scholarship, The Papers of George Washington encompasses five separate series and the complete diaries. This digital edition offers the complete Papers released through 2009 in one online publication. Researchers may search the full text and by date, author, or recipient across all volumes and series.

Documents the life and work of one of the most important political and constitutional thinkers in our nation’s history. As chief author of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, secretary of state during the Louisiana Purchase, and the fourth president of the United States, James Madison (1751-1836) played a central role in the American founding and the growth of the early Republic. Users may browse documents categorized by the role Madison played in American politics (Congressman, Secretary of State, President), or they may search documents by keyword or date. The collection spans the 1750s to the 1820s.

Since 1950, the writings of the "author of the Declaration of American Independence, of the Statute of Virginia for Religious Freedom, [and] father of the University of Virginia" have been compiled in the ongoing project, The Papers of Thomas Jefferson. This database brings together all thirty-six volumes published through 2009 into one searchable online resource. In addition, it includes the first four volumes of the Retirement Series which documents the time between Jefferson’s return to private life and his death in 1826.
Past Masters series encompasses large collection of full-text electronic editions in the history of political thought and theory, education, religious studies, economics, classics, history and philosophy of science, germanic studies and sociology.

The PILOTS bibliographic database, covering the Published International Literature On Traumatic Stress, is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Its goal is to include citations to all literature on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental-health sequelae of traumatic events, without disciplinary, linguistic, or geographical limitations, and to offer both current and retrospective coverage.

Political Science (ProQuest)- Abstracts only ProQuest's Political Science Abstracts contains over 6 million records and 700,000 full-text articles from nearly 700 leading journals. It is useful for doing research on political science topics, but also for related disciplines such as international relations, public administration, economics, foreign policy, legislative studies, and ethnic and area studies. The database also contains indexing for related dissertations, government documents, conference reports, publications of international agencies, and other grey literature.

Presidential Recordings of Lyndon Johnson Digital Edition The presidential recordings of Lyndon B. Johnson contain nearly 400 phone conversations, beginning in July 1964 and ending in July 1965. When completed, this collection will span Johnson's entire presidency. Each conversation is presented with its transcription and corresponding audio file. In addition to introductory essays providing historical context, the editors have prepared extensive annotations for each conversation.

ProQuest Congressional Provides access to the publications of the United States Congress from 1970 to the present including Congressional committee hearings and reports, the Congressional Record, the United States Code, the Code of Federal Regulations and the Federal Register, bill texts, and legislative histories for Public Laws. Online full-text availability for these documents covers 1989 to the present. For publications running from 1970 to 1988, ProQuest Congressional provides indexing with abstracts. This indexing provides access to McDermott Library’s U.S. Serial Set collection on microfilm. ProQuest Statistical Insight ProQuest Statistical Insight is a full-text database containing thousands of statistical charts and tables derived from federal and state government agencies, international bodies, and private organizations. ProQuest Statistical Insight's content is quite broad and includes demographic data as well as data about crime, economics, health, education, labor, and the environment. The PsycArticles database covers general psychology and specialized, basic, applied, clinical and theoretical research in psychology. This database contains more than 100,000 searchable full text articles from 48 journals published by the American Psychological Association and 11 from allied organizations. PsycINFO is the premier online index for researching psychological literature, including related fields such as medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, physiology, linguistics, anthropology, business, law and others. PsycInfo indexes over 2,100 psychology journals, including book chapters, books and dissertations. The index starts in 1806 (1887 for journals) and is updated weekly. PsycTESTS® Produced by the American Psychological Association (APA),PsycTESTS® is a one-of-a-kind database providing descriptive summaries, full text (if available), and relevant citations on the development and assessment of tests and measures that can be used in research and teaching. This repository includes unpublished tests, tests developed by psychologists for which no source documentation is available, and information about commercially published tests. Information on each test includes: data on the scope of the test, test implementation, a high-level overview of the test’s development, and reliability and validity data (when available). Coverage begins in 1910 and the database is updated monthly.

PubMed, developed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the U.S. National Library of Medicine, provides access to citations and abstracts from biomedical literature. Over 10,500 journals are indexed by PubMed with coverage back to the 1950s. Links to full-text articles at other journal Web sites are provided for many of the citations within PubMed.
